(0:11) Part 2. You will hear a radio program introducing a holiday resort to visitors. (0:18) First, you have some time to look at questions 11 to 16. (1:02) Now listen carefully and answer questions 11 to 16.
(1:10) Welcome to our radio program, Travel with me in Australia. (1:15) I'm Anna, the presenter of the radio show. (1:19) In today's session, I will introduce a fantastic place to you, (1:24) the Coconut Beach Resort, which was newly built and opened to the public several months ago.
(1:31) I visited the resort last week and had a wonderful time there. (1:36) Now I will give some details. (1:40) First of all, who is the target group? (1:44) As it is a beach resort, it's not suitable for backpackers, of course.
(1:50) With little houses alongside the beach, (1:53) this resort is the best place to spend time with your beloved one. (1:59) I know several newlyweds booked cabins there to spend their honeymoon. (2:05) However, it isn't an ideal destination for families with several children (2:10) because it may be beyond the budget.
(2:14) About the accommodation, you can choose from different types of rooms (2:19) and the price differs a lot. (2:23) Take the bathing facilities, for example. (2:26) I booked a room with a spa bath for the first two days, which is the most cost-effective one.
(2:33) But for the three days left, I changed the room and lived in the one with a private pool. (2:40) It was my favorite, I had to say. (2:43) Every night I could relax in the pool, which is so personal and secluded.
(2:50) And the third option is a room with a private beach, which I want to experience next time. (2:58) The resort has various facilities catering to the needs of different visitors. (3:04) There is a golf course, and if you want to play, (3:08) you can either hire the equipment on the course or buy it in the golf shop.
(3:14) If you're going to bring some snacks and drinks and relax in the open air, (3:19) you can go to the picnic area, which was extended recently. (3:24) The good news is that a horse ranch was added to the resort, (3:28) so you can try horse riding if interested. (3:32) You can also visit a range of attractions, like the farm, waterfall, etc.
(3:40) I went to the town on the first day to enjoy the local food and talk with the local people. (3:47) Then the next day, I joined a tour group to the rainforest. (3:52) It was my first time seeing a rainforest, (3:55) and I was struck by the thick vegetation and diverse species.
(4:00) So I recommend it to you. (4:03) If you like, you can even explore the rainforest. (4:07) Walk in among the densely covered forest.
(4:10) You can find different species of plants and animals. (4:15) It is an exciting activity for both young and old, (4:19) so all the people who have been there loved it. (4:23) Don't worry, you won't get lost, as a guide will lead you throughout the exploration.
(4:30) The most popular attraction is called the Sound of the Birds. (4:36) It used to be open at weekends, but it was always crowded with people. (4:42) As a result, it has changed the schedule and put it on the last two days of the weekdays.
(4:49) I think it will give visitors a better experience. (4:55) Before you hear the rest of the talk, (4:58) you have some time to look at questions 17 to 20. (5:32) Now listen and answer questions 17 to 20.
(5:39) Besides the recreational facilities, (5:42) I'd also like to introduce you to some other facilities in the resort centre that may be useful. (5:50) First, it offers a transfer service. (5:53) You don't have to rent a car or take a taxi when you arrive at the airport.
(5:59) A bus will pick you up and take you directly to the resort. (6:04) It leaves every 24 minutes, and there is no extra charge. (6:09) For coffee lovers, there is a cafe in the centre, and it opens from 8am to 11pm.
(6:17) If you want to reserve a guided tour of the attractions, (6:21) go to the tour booking office, which is located next to the cafe. (6:27) However, the tourist shop is being refurbished and isn't open at the moment, (6:32) so if you want to buy some souvenirs for your families or friends, maybe you have to go to the town. (6:40) The last thing I want to mention is there is an Aboriginal tribe near the resort, (6:47) and if you are interested, there is a visit every Wednesday.
(6:51) Maybe some of you have learnt Aboriginal history or Aboriginal traditions at school, (6:57) like traditional dancing and blanket weaving, but this time you can experience by yourselves, (7:05) appreciating Aboriginal rock painting and even talking to well-known painters. (7:12) What's more, a local herbalist will introduce you to the herbal treatment, (7:17) which is commonly used in the Aboriginal tribe. (7:21) It is an educational visit, and I'm sure you will learn much about the Aboriginal tribe.
(7:29) OK, that's all I want to introduce today. (7:33) If you want to know more exciting holiday resorts in Australia, (7:38) please wait for our programme next week. (7:41) Bye.
(7:44) That is the end of part 2. (7:46) You now have half a minute to check your answers to part 2.
